ADA

Inclusive finance expertise

Over the past 20 years, ADA has been dedicated to increasing the financial inclusion of populations excluded from conventional banking channels in developing countries. Our work consists primarily of empowering and supporting the growth of microfinance institutions (MFIs), professional associations and networks. We also work closely with governments to support and develop the regional and national microfinance sectors.

ADA has developed innovative microfinance products for our MFI partners that can positively impact the lives of thousands of people. Our work includes projects on the financing of young entrepreneurs, access to sustainable energy and even microinsurance.

We also hold trainings for microfinance professionals in Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America, so that they can develop their skills. Driven by the same goal, we participate in the creation of management tools like Microfact. We also address the funding needs of MFIs through a partnership with the Luxembourg Microfinance and Development Fund (LMDF).

ADA is also increasingly involved in research in the fields of rural finance and social performance evaluation. The practical knowledge we have gained through projects in the field plays an important role in our research, which in its turn influences our decisions and approaches.

We frequently participate in and organize conferences and meetings to share and exchange our skills and knowledge. We therefore contribute to important dialogues about microfinance, both in Luxembourg and in countries of the Global South.

ADA, which is based in Luxembourg, is a non-governmental organisation that is approved and co-funded by the Luxembourg Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs and is placed under the High Patronage of Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.
