Tackling the impacts & causes of climate change
Mobilising More for Climate (MoMo4C) is a five-year program (2020-2024) organized by IUCN, Tropenbos International, and WWF. It aims to bring together entrepreneurs, corporates, policymakers, investors and civil society organizations to make green business propositions.
Through Calls for Business Proposals, WWF identifies and selects business cases with a high potential of addressing landscape challenges. These should tackle the impacts and causes of climate change at a landscape level in developing countries, contribute to climate-resilience and (gender) inclusive, sustainable development in the landscapes where they are proposed, and attract investments to implement these initiatives.

WWF wants to identify and support Bankable Nature Solutions. These solutions should help address key challenges in the Tri-National Dja-Odzala-Minkébé (TRIDOM) landscape in Cameroon. Together with you, we want to create investment opportunities in sectors focused on:
Selected projects will receive the following technical assistance:
A kick-off workshop will be organized with project owners in Bertoua. The objectives, expectations, content, and the form of the technical assistance will be discussed. Do’s and don’ts of project development, business plan, fundraising and as well as basics of project bankability will be discussed in the same workshop that will last 1,5 days.
Virtual workshops with the project owners. This will be a follow-up discussion with all projects with rounds of Q&A and the identification of individual assistance, training and capacity development needed. The virtual workshop will be organized in 4 sessions of a maximum of 3 hours each and in 4 days.
One-on-one coaching, monitoring, capacity development of project owners: Individual coaching/training sessions will be organized for project owners as per identified needs. Each session will last a maximum of 2h and each project will get a maximum of 8 sessions of individual TA.

Besides these support sessions, the program will also provide exposure and access to financiers, such as (international) impact funds, private and public investors and (international) financial institutions to provide the opportunity to present your bankable solution for financing.
A program representative will be available on a dedicated phone number to answer any questions
and to support applicants to file an online application on their behalf if need be. This means that applicants facing difficulties filling in the online application can apply via a call to these phone numbers: 654 045 144 (MTN), 693 161 045 (Orange), 233 478 904 (Camtel, Landline).
Given the current sanitary situation, we can only organize limited face-to-face sessions. You can interact with us through conference calls (Teams, Zoom, WhatsApp) and email exchanges. Support documents including case studies and videos will be provided. Sanitation and distancing measures strictly apply during face-to-face interactions (Meeting in Bertoua, and others if need be.)
We are looking for businesses and projects that generate financial returns for investors and communities, alongside a positive impact on nature, people and climate by increasing climate resilience through adaptation and/or mitigation and reducing pressure on ecosystems and biodiversity.
In the TRIDOM landscape, we look for bankable nature solutions that help reduce deforestation and forest degradation and/or that help create a diversified income for local communities.

Deforestation the increase in deforestation can be attributed to increasing in logging and the growth of plantations.
Forest degradation Logging operations are often carried out without respective the relevant regulation and forest management plan. This leads to the rapid degradation of forests. This is further exacerbated by the growth of commercial logging, the increase in mining concessions, and the associated development of roads.
Decreased income generation Unpredictable weather, broader climatic effects, and deforestation lead to scarcity of non-timber forest products like bush mango, Mbalacka, Ndjansang, and insect larvae. This affects the income of households that are largely dependent on the sales of these products.

Promising candidates will be asked to present their business proposal to a selection committee. The selection committee will review which projects have the right fit to be admitted into the program. Participants selected for the MoMo4C program will receive project development support based on their program application and development needs.
