Wi-Agri Agtech offering a digital market place for diverse value chains

Wi-Agri is a digital market place platform that offers a range of services to smallholder farmers, vulnerable workers and other agricultural value chain actors (buyers / traders / exporters, processing industry, input suppliers, etc).The platform was piloted in 2022 in the cashew value chain but has plans to integrate other value chains,namely;cassava,rice both irrigation and rain-fed) and maize.The platform addresses 4 key challenges of agri-value chains;access to finance,access to quality input,access to agricultural information and access to market.Wi-Agri’s model is to partner with businesses to provide value to farmers.We currently have 20,000 farmers registered on the platform,33 partner cooperatives,1 financial institution,1 cashew processor.Another innovative aspect of the platform is integration with a mobile money service provider via APIs for direct payment of farmers to their electronic wallets.100,000 USD in working capital loans have so far been disbursed.
