Whole Surplus Digital food surplus management system building recovery ecosystem

Supported by UNDP to reach SDGs, Whole Surplus provides technology solutions to recover the best possible environmental, social and financial value out of surplus food. The platform creates a system where food businesses can manage all of their unsold inventories from one place. Whole Surplus delivers holistic solutions to any type of surplus food, eligible for human consumption, animal food, or recycling. The digital solutions and matchings are done in line with the Food Recovery Hierarchy so the platform creates the highest value from the surplus food. With the help of the technology and network, the aim is to reduce partners’ food waste-related carbon emission by 50%. Thanks to the unique technology, in 4 years, more than 19.000 tonnes of food and 72B litres of water have been saved, monthly 1,1 M people in need got food donations, 62.000 tonnes of emission has been prevented in Turkey. In sum, 300M TL worth of surplus food brought back to the economy.
