Wecyclers Nigeria Limited Sustainable recycling services for low-income households.

Wecyclers provides sustainable and convenient recycling services to low-income households while diverting recyclable waste from overflowing landfills and into recycling value chains. Wecyclers also alleviates poverty by creating grass-root livelihoods through its franchise program. We provide incentives for households in informal settlements in exchange for their recyclable waste. By collecting this recyclable waste from these underserved neighborhoods, we prevent waste from littering streets, clogging drainage channels, and ending up in the ocean.
Our model combines low and high technological solutions by utilizing mobile applications and SMS technology as well as innovative low-cost bicycled-powered collection vehicles referred to as “wecycles” as well as motorized tricycles and trucks.
Wecyclers has been able to collect over 6,000 tons of waste from over 20,000 low-income households, with 1,682 tons collected in 2019 alone, while providing over $50,000 monetary incentives.
