Weaverbirds Community-powered insights for smarter decision making

Team

Weaverbirds founders are Thom Harvey and Tamon Oshimo.

Thom founded a pan-African sports media-tech company in 2013, raising $500k and building a fan base of 3M+ across five countries before closing in 2019. He then joined the Tony Blair Institute, supporting Rwanda’s government on SME digitisation, including COVID vaccine tracking and farmer data systems. In 2020, he co-founded Kumva Insights, a remote sensing company tracking change in hard-to-reach environments, and now serves as non-executive director.

Tamon launched an East African advisory and media business supporting clients like Oxfam, USAID, and JICA. He later completed an MBA at IESE and advised Kigali Farms through a USAID programme, supporting growth, export expansion, and fundraising. Both founders bring deep experience in entrepreneurship, East African markets, and impact-driven innovation.
