Victoria Fishing Cooperative Society LTD VFCS ltd

Victoria Fishing Cooperative Society LTD is a community-based aquaculture cooperative in Musoma, Tanzania, bringing together over 80 members, primarily youth and women, to improve livelihoods through sustainable cage fish farming in Lake Victoria. We address two major challenges facing small-scale fish farmers: the high cost of fish feed and limited access to production capital.

Our business combines fish production, affordable locally-made fish feed, and collective marketing to increase productivity and profitability for members. We currently operate fish cages in Lake Victoria and have an established market for tilapia and other fish products. With additional investment, we will expand feed production, stock idle cages, increase fish output, create jobs for youth and women, and contribute to food security while promoting environmentally sustainable aquaculture. Our scalable model has strong potential to transform aquaculture in the Lake Victoria region and beyond.
