UMUGATIWUBUZIMA Ltd means “Bread of Life”. We are a Rwandan food processing company producing fortified infant & children foods, fortified maize flour, and egg-based products to fight malnutrition.

What we do: We process locally grown maize, soybeans, eggs, and milk from 2,000 farmers in 12 cooperatives into nutritious, easy-to-cook fortified foods. Our 3 core products are: 1) “Ubuzima Porridge” for children 6 months-5 years with added iron, zinc, Vitamin A, B12. 2) Fortified maize flour for families and schools. 3) Egg-based snacks/biscuits for protein. All products are Rwanda FDA & RSB certified.

Problem we solve: 33% of Rwandan children under 5 are stunted due to “hidden hunger”. Regular maize flour has no micronutrients. Farmers also lack reliable markets and fair prices at harvest.
