Uhai Health Promotion Improving Access, Processing and Distribution of donated human blood.

Uhai (Swahili for Life) is a health technology aimed at improving blood and blood products supply chain by targeting three major pillars: Access, Processing and Distribution. The three major problems in blood and blood products supply chain are: (1) Low quantities of donated Blood; (2) Wastage of Donated during screening, processing and storage and (3) Bias in distribution of donated blood and blood products. We propose to solve these problems by developing predictive Models for blood volumes to be donated and providing digital medals for recurrent donors; introducing temperature monitoring systems to reduce wastage of donated blood by ensuring proper cold chain management and lastly by creating an Artificial Intelligence powered blood requisition portal based on the time of requisition, condition and location of the patient as well as requested blood and blood products volume.
