In Latin America and especially in countries like Nicaragua there is an unmet need for more than 6.7 million young Latinas (15 -24) living in culturally specific rural, education and sexual health care communities. Not only is there a lack of resources for sexual health services in underserved communities, the ‘base of the pyramid’ is an unattended digital health market.
The innovative is the creation of an APP called CHAVA that offers young women from rural communities education on sexual and reproductive health and private consultations in an interactive and personalized way. Working on the field with TheLily Project, who has deep connections to the needs of women these communities. CHAVA will deploy young community ambassadors to ensure the adoption of the proper use that CHAVA offers within an audience that has little literacy and little knowledge of technology.
