TechSkills Academy Technology for all

TechSkills Academy is a grassroots educational initiative created to bridge the digital divide in the rural territories of Fizi and Mwenga (Itombwe) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where access to technology is severely limited and computer science is virtually nonexistent in the school system. In these underserved communities, most teachers lack digital skills, and students grow up without exposure to even basic computing, limiting their opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and participation in the global digital economy. TechSkills Academy offers accessible technology education tailored to local needs, focusing on practical skills such as computer literacy, internet usage, mobile technology, and coding. Using a “train-the-trainer” model, each participant becomes a potential educator, multiplying impact through community-based knowledge transfer and creating a sustainable digital learning ecosystem. We empower youth not only to consume technology but also to create.
