Wathua and Leonard share a bond spanning over a decade, having attended the same high school and university. Their friendship, built on trust, laid a strong foundation for future collaboration. Amos, a renowned Kenyan musician, pivoted his career to launch TausiApp, leveraging his influence to promote the platform and connect clients with skilled beauticians.
Wathua, after successfully exiting Nice & Lovely—a beauty product company sold to L’Oréal for $10M—was inspired to support beauticians who used his products. Intrigued by Amos’s vision, he reached out via Facebook, marking the start of their partnership. Recognizing the need for technical expertise, Wathua brought in Leonard from Dallas, Texas, to lead TausiApp’s tech innovations.
