Soltech Energy, Lda is a clean energy startup based in Maputo, with operations in Matola, Macaneta, Ponta D’Ouro and Moamba. Its mission is to provide clean and affordable energy to peri-urban and rural communities through the distribution of domestic gas (LPG). The company sells gas in 3kg and 5kg cylinders and sells low-cost one-mouth stoves to encourage uptake. Soltech also installs gas networks in residential condominiums, hotels and small businesses. Soltech is committed to empowering women and young people through training programs and the creation of local distribution points. The project contributes to reducing dependence on coal and firewood, improves health conditions and promotes green entrepreneurship
