Smart ikigega have the objective of empowering farmers by building an African digital
farmer service center through harvest data decentralization and market connection.
Farmers are struggling with limited digital accessibility to financial services and right markets. This leads to Post-harvest Loss which affects the climate and low price for harvest due to the lack of information .
Firstly we are reducing post harvest loss through pre-harvest market connection where every stakeholder in the agriculture value chain can easily identify and address their needs, while farmers can align their production with consumer demands.
Secondly, we are Increasing farmer’s access to financial services through cashless payment , crop insurance and direct loans based on their harvest data.
Lastly we are helping farmers to do postharvest management by digitally saving their data which can be used for a long time through unique digital identity.
