Biocycle is a Namibian startup company that uses indigenous black soldier flies (Hermetia illucens) to reduce organic waste and greenhouse gas emissions while providing high quality livestock feed and compost. The fly larvae consume a wide variety of organic waste that would otherwise go to landfill and produce methane, a powerful greenhouse gas. The larvae convert the waste into organic fertiliser.
