Slate Farms Bridging Africa's Food Gap

As a crop farming company focused on the grain value chain, Slate Farms has been able to grow its capacity from 3 hectares (2017) to 120 hectares (2021). Unfortunately, this is not good enough to meet the demand for Maize & Soy Beans in the Nigerian market. Demand outweighs supply, and we can’t grow faster than our current means without external support. We’d like to engage more formers in an outgrowers scheme, to enable us meet the market demands, help farmers earn more, and above all, make more maize and soy beans readily available in the market for various human and industrial consumption.
We’re looking for grant funding to enable us do these, and invest in our research and development process, which is targeted at helping us increase yield with less cost.
