Team Cathy, Founder & CEO, has six years in sales, marketing, brand management, retail, distribution and product development. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), she joined Unilever and worked in their Kenya and UK offices. She then joined Moko, a furniture startup in Kenya whose yearly revenue run rate grew from $4,320 to ~$1M in 1.5 years under her leadership. While at the startup, Cathy had direct experience selling mattresses via Facebook and WhatsApp, and this was her first foray into social commerce. Daniel Nyakora is our first part-time employee. Daniel is a marketer who has worked on the creation and implementation of the marketing strategy of startups such as Watu Credit, Apollo Agriculture, and Nova Pioneer. Cathy and Daniel met at UPenn, while pursuing their undergraduate degrees.
