Provision Sight Africa

1.3 million Kenyans live with visual impairment. The best assistive tool most can access is a white cane. It prevents collisions. It cannot describe a room, identify a person, or read a sign. Advanced AI-powered alternatives exist globally but cost USD 1,800 to 3,500, require reliable internet, and were trained on Western environments that bear no resemblance to African streets.
Provision Sight builds AI-powered smart glasses that give visually impaired users continuous, real-time environmental awareness through natural spoken audio. The device sees, interprets, and speaks the surroundings without requiring the user to stop, point a phone, or ask for help.
What makes it unique: we replaced expensive depth-sensing hardware with software-driven spatial intelligence, bringing the device to KES 18,000 (USD 138), 20 times cheaper than the nearest comparable import. Our system runs offline and is being trained on African environments.
