Nakuru Tubers Empowering rural farmers through technology and climate smart farming

Nakuru Tubers is a female-led agri-tech company transforming Kenya’s potato value chain by leveraging technology, youth leadership, and climate-smart innovation. We empower smallholder farmers, particularly women and young people, to access certified seed potatoes, digital advisory services, and market opportunities that improve productivity, incomes, and resilience.
Our model deploys Digital Connectors, who are local youths equipped with mobile technology, to deliver real-time agronomic support, and input distribution at the last mile. Through our growing digital platform, farmers access customized advisory content, certified input tracking, and ongoing market linkage services.
To date, Nakuru Tubers has reached over 5,000 farmers, with 60% being women, and created more than 200 youth employment opportunities. Our seed production is KEPHIS-certified, positioning us as a trusted player advancing rural food systems.
