mDairy MDairy aims to unlock opportunities in dairy sector through technology

mDairy is a mobile platform (SMS, IVR, and App) allowing dairy farmers and extension officers to access dairy information and services such as cattle vaccination and reminders, animal health, epidemic alert, locate grazing paths, record keeping of the milk etc. It also profiles verified dairy farmers, generate data, and link them to potential investors. Our research shows that just about 2% of world milk production is produced in Africa. In Nigeria, more than 70% of the milk consumed is imported. Unemployment is at all-time high of about 23%. Available solutions are traditional and not technology-driven. Hence, mDairy aims to boost the quantity and quality of milk production while improving farmers’ livelihood and access to market via technology.
