It is evident that the value addition of the products and the induction of sustainability and recycling is mandatory in the domain to enhance and utilize the full-scale potentials in Pakistan Agriculture.
Cantex is an initiative inspired from the core concept of value addition and circular economy. The startup proposed a small-scale export quality organic jaggery manufacturing unit using the sugarcane. This manufacturing process will produce bagasse as by-product which can be utilized to make pulp and finally packaging material. The proposed project is not only limited to bagasse based packaging, but have the potential to use recycle paper, industrial hemp and agriculture residues as source of cellulose to create value added textile products. The wet laid methodology is adopted in this project. This proposal deals with the green, sustainable, recyclable and a low-cost alternative of plastics bags using Bagasse fibers which are abundantly available in the region.
