My name is Dieu Merci Mbungu, and I’m a drilling and oil production engineer. I’m behind the MAJI OVER NETWORK project, an innovative solution to the crisis of access to drinking water in Kinshasa and rural areas in DR Congo. Kinshasa, with over 15 million inhabitants, suffers from a chronic shortage of drinking water. Yet the DRC holds almost 50% of Africa’s freshwater reserves. This paradox endangers public health, particularly that of children under 5, who are highly exposed to water-borne diseases. We propose an intelligent, autonomous drinking water distribution system, powered by solar energy. Using a borehole, a solar-powered pumping station and a remote management platform, we supply water via a connected local mini-grid, with electronic payment (mobile money or prepaid card) and smart meters. Our ambition: to serve over 1,000 households.SectorsWater, sanitation and hygieneLocationKinshasa, Congo, Democratic Republic of theStageSign in to view detailsMarketsSign in to view detailsCustomer modelSign in to view detailsContactSign in to view detailsSocial media
