We develop highly nutritious and affordable foods that prevent and treat malnutrition.
Chronic malnutrition diminishes brain development, which takes place mainly during the first two years of life. The damage done by malnutrition is later largely irreversible. As a result, children grow up with a lower IQ, more difficulties in school, and fewer employment opportunities.
In Guatemala, 48.6% of all children suffer from chronic malnutrition. In many rural villages, practically, all infants are malnourished. Therefore, we create baby foods that bridge the nutrition gap. We want to make LISTO available in all the tiendas for Q1 (US$ 0.12) – affordable for all BOP families – to help all children to grow up healthy for a more prosperous and peaceful tomorrow.
