Lema Agrivest is a hydroponics and aquaponics farming company. The business is currently providing effective training on hydroponics DIY to smallholder farmers from urban and rural areas in Lesotho. Lema Agrivest has potential for creating and providing sustainable produce for consumers, businesses, and or government of Lesotho with hydroponically grown crops in water-nutrient solution.
The use of hydroponics allows for control of the root system, environment and plant growth through the amount of nutrients and water the plants (and roots) receive, allowing maximum yield and quality produce. The benefits of hydroponics include up to 90% water efficiency, enhanced quality, and higher production yield that increases 3 to 10 times in the same amount of space. Many vegetables and herbs (cash crops) can be produced twice as fast in a well-managed hydroponic system.
