According to a 2015 World Bank report, the enrollment rate in Haiti has gone up, however the drop-out rate has increased, with more than 200,000 children out of school. The quality of education for the 2.3 million children in school remain very low. Consequently, the passing rate of the national high school exam has averaged below 50% over the past few years, with less than 2% of all students entering elementary school eventually attending university.
We created LEKòL to put each student in the driver seat of their education. LEKòL is a mobile and web platform that facilitates remote learning and evaluation for grades 1-12 in Haiti. It is used by over 10,000 students, and it uses data and analytics to increase students’ academic performance.
LEKòL’s mission is to keep every child in school and help them reach their full academic potential.
