1.2 billion don’t have access to electricity, 4.3 billion have no electricity. Electrification and Connectivity can improve access to education, leading to improved local health care, local business development, individual empowerment and civic transparency. Through electrification and connection, we can reduce poverty and improve lives.
We have developed the Kumba IoT Hub – a solar powered connectivity and communication device which provides a platform for education, health and agriculture services. The Kumba comes fully loaded, with weather sensors, a thermal camera, lights, solar power, TV, radio and so much more. These services produce useful data which allow for tailoring to specifically address the needs of its users. All together the Hub equips people of marginalized populations with the knowledge and skills required to reduce poverty and drive sustainable development by striving to build their human capital so they can compete for jobs in an increasingly globalized world.
