For half a century, sugarcane farming has been the bulwark of the Western Kenya economy supporting 250,000 farmers and impacting 6million Kenyans directly and indirectly.
The collapse of the industry, in Western Kenya, has had adverse effects on the communities, especially vulnerable groups such as women and children.
To fill this gap, Kenya Papaya has contracted 500 farmers, organized in production clusters, mainly for production and processing of papaya ultimately with the goal to improve the socio-economic standards of smallholder farmers in Western Kenya by increasing production and productivity of the high-value fruit tree for high-income generation.
We make the production of pawpaw affordable by negotiating with input suppliers to ensure they provide the best quality fertilizer, certified seed, and the most effective
