800 million livestock keepers and 33 million smallholder farmers produce 80% of the food in Africa. Most of these farmers and herders are living below the poverty line. International Research and Development Africa Ltd, (IRDA) supports and trains smallholder farmers particularly women/youth in adapting a circular bioeconomy and climate change mitigation to build resilience, increase productivity and incomes. We integrate agroecology, conservation and regenerative agriculture, livestock, low-carbon farming, carbon capture and storage know-how to improve soil acidity, water and nutrient retention, and reduce methane emissions from paddy rice and livestock.
