The establishment of the IMU is based on the project ‘International Maritime Academy of the International Chamber of Commerce’ (IMA ICC), approved on 28 June 2012 at the meeting of the Maritime Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France, and in August 2015 the Admiral Ushakov Maritime Institute (AUMI) was established by reorganising several branches of the Institute of Postgraduate Education “Odesa Maritime Training Centre” as a startup of the project. The Educational format: online learning via a proprietary IRDVS platform (Integrated Remote and Distributed Virtual System); full compliance with STCW, EQF, ESG, ISO 9001, and IMO Model Courses. The competency certification (CoC) issued through partner centers approved by maritime administrations (STCW-approved); STCW-based training with online theoretical preparation and in-person practical components.
