1 of every 2 Nigerians is constantly living without reliable electricity, leading to people resorting to self-generation for basic power needs. Nigeria experiences the greatest number of power outages monthly. This problem can be a greater burden for small business owners. There are over 41 million small businesses in Nigeria and it has been reported that Nigerian businesses experience an average of 239 hours of outage every month and estimated that approximately 41% of business owners resort to dangerous and expensive self-generation. To address this major social and developmental problem, ICE installs and maintains modular, rooftop cloud-connected 5-kWp solar microgrids for up to 10 small business off-takers located in commercial plazas. Connected customers quickly get access to clean, reliable solar energy under a pay-as-you-go model.
