The effects of climate change and demographic pressure on agricultural land in urban and peri-urban settings are major threats to agriculture and food security in Africa. Rains are increasingly rare, urban and peri-urban agricultural land is disappearing more and more and the need for food is increasing day by day. It is therefore important to develop innovative and resilient production systems that are not subject to rain and that allow high yield production on small areas with a 75% reduction in the need for irrigation water.
