Advances in genetics and genomics are transforming global bio-innovation. Genome editing (GEd), powered by CRISPR technology, enables precise DNA modifications to develop climate-resilient crops, improve livestock, cure genetic diseases, and advance personalized medicine. Yet Africa — despite carrying the world’s highest disease burden and facing urgent agricultural challenges — remains largely excluded from these breakthroughs. Key barriers include limited laboratory infrastructure, a shortage of trained professionals, and low public awareness of genome editing’s benefits and risks. Gene4All addresses this gap by democratizing access to genome editing through education, training, and strategic collaboration. Our core solution is the CRISPR Starter Package — a scalable, open-access toolkit combining digital courses, reagents, and ready-to-use protocols that can be directly integrated into African research institutions.
