Farmers have been selling their produce to unhygienic, unregulated markets with a lot of middle men who buy low and sell high, and to supermarkets who pay them the lowest rate and after 90 days in some instances. We experienced this when we started farming and we now use a custom built e-commerce platform, a tailored payment gateway and logistics software to deliver fresh produce to our customers and we have managed to connect farmers direct to consumers.
