SHULE (Rural School Attendance and Learning Improvement Pilot) is a community-based education initiative that helps rural primary schools improve student attendance, retention, and learning outcomes through affordable digital monitoring and parent engagement.
The project serves 3,000 vulnerable children aged 7–14 in Geita and Kigoma, where absenteeism, poor academic performance, and dropout are driven by poverty, long travel distances, weak school monitoring systems, and limited parental involvement. Through the Digital Examination Results and Parent Feedback System, schools record attendance and academic performance while sharing regular updates directly with parents. This creates an early-warning system that identifies at-risk learners and enables timely support before challenges lead to dropout.
