Essento makes delicious, tasty and healthy food from locally grown and processed insects. Insects are a very sustainable, highquality nutrient source that is grown using side streams of the food sector that cannot be used for human consumption. Essento offers insects in the form of protein bars, snacks (spiced roasted insects) and burgers.
Using insects we can decrease the land, water and CO2 footprint by at least by 10 and provide consumers with highquality sustainably produced nutrients. The frass produced by the insects is used as a highquality fertilizer for organic agriculture.
Insects are breed in an animal friendly way and are very (at scale) cost effective, plus are able to use unused sidestreams.
