Ecovolt Innovations limited Powering farmers with solar energy for year-round food security

Ecovolt is a Zambian clean energy startup providing solar-powered mini-grids that transform rural agriculture. By powering irrigation systems, households, and SMEs, we enable smallholder farmers to produce crops year-round, free from dependence on unreliable rainfall. Our solution directly addresses food insecurity, climate vulnerability, and lack of affordable energy in marginalized communities.

We have successfully piloted two mini-grids: one in Senanga District, powering households, SMEs, and irrigation; and another in Mwembeshi, powering a learning institution. These prototypes demonstrate both technical viability and strong community demand.

With over 1.5 million smallholder farmers in Zambia and millions more across Africa, the scalability potential is vast. SAIS Accelerator support will help us refine our business model, attract investment, and expand from 2 pilots to 20 communities within 3 years, driving inclusive growth and climate resilience.
