Our mission is to empower the use of sustainable energy. We have started on this journey by manufacturing solid fuel from biomass waste. Due to climate change the world is moving away from fossil fuels and firewood. Kenya does not have a local fossil fuel industry, and so most industries and domestic consumers rely on firewood. The country consumes around 16 million tonnes of firewood and charcoal in a year which equates to around a $1.94 billion market. The actual demand is for more than 25 million tonnes per year which equates to a 60% gap in supply. The gap has further increased due to the logging ban that the Government of Kenya imposed in 2018 to help reduce deforestation. Consistent supply of affordable and sustainable fuel is virtually none existent and this is the problem that we are solving. We officially started production at the end of June 2020.
