E-TOYO is building Tanzania’s battery-swapping network for electric motorcycles and three-wheelers. We provide affordable electric mobility by owning and managing batteries, allowing riders to swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones in under two minutes instead of waiting hours to recharge.

The opportunity is significant: Tanzania has over 3.6 million motorcycles and three-wheelers, most powered by expensive petrol. A typical boda boda rider spends up to TZS 30,000 per day on fuel, while electric motorcycles can reduce operating costs by more than 70% and eliminate tailpipe emissions. With Tanzania’s abundant low-cost hydroelectric power, E-TOYO can offer a cleaner, cheaper alternative while generating recurring revenue from every battery swap. Our goal is to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels and become the leading battery-swapping operator in East Africa.
