Diversity Ability Support Network System (Dasuns) Facilitating access to support Services & assistive technologies 4 pwd

To participate in their communities, persons with disabilities (PWDs) need access to professional support services. While Kyambogo University and Organisation of Persons with Disabilities train professionals to provide support services, PWDs still struggle to access professional support. Identification of support persons depends on oral inquiries. While well trained professionals remain unemployed, looking for opportunities to apply their skills; PWDs remain stranded, unable to identify professional support.

Dasuns addresses this challenge by leverage assistive technologies to provide digital access to professional support services. The digital interactive database system connects support service users to professional service providers. There is potential for growth as disability inclusion is now a reality and yet the require professional support services for PWDs are not readily available.
