We are a civil association that seeks to build a sustainable and inclusive future of data for Latin America and the Caribbean. 90% of the open and published data in our region lacks a gender perspective and more than half of the companies that work with technology and data were never trained in the importance of working from a gender perspective.
According to our surveys, the vast majority of the time the gender is not considered a relevant variable for the analysis then the information is not disaggregated by gender. The portals do not have sections specifically aimed at gender issues, the data (when there are) are presented in a binary way, without being sensitive to the different gender identities and are partially found without having traceability by zone or on a temporary basis.
