Based in Nicaragua we are on a mission to alleviate poverty in the second poorest country in the Western hemisphere by increasing smallholder farmers income through regenerative farming to meet the growing demand for high-quality organic and specialty food ingredients. We have created a network of 2,100 producers who are dependent on a single crop for livelihood (coffee) and are developing a pioneer and new macadamia industry in Nicaragua to help these farmers diversify their dependency and diminish their risk. We have distributed nearly 40,000 macadamia trees to over 600 farmers and the number is growing. This contributes to sequester 2,4 million tons of carbon from the air and increases by two-fold farmers income in the upcoming years. We seek additional funds to purchase “injertos” to increase production capacity of macadamia trees to be harvested in a shorter hence generate more income quickly for farmers and improves production quality of the nuts.
