Driven to embed climate-resilience into African food systems via technology localization while tapping into waste2resource innovation, we have pioneered MENA’s 1st industrial scale facility that valorizes the biopolymer, Chitosan, from a diversity of crustacean waste to then combine it with bio-compounds sourced from the region to create 100% organic & democratic crop solutions. Chitosan has a versatile ability to bind to other compounds and increase uptake by atleast 25% such nutrients prone to soil leakage. Products to date combat 50+ pathogen varieties & climate stressors [salinity & extreme weather] boosting crop yield upto 35% at 20% cost savings.
Beyond immediate impact of empowering farmer participation in higher-income crops, we are enabling additional wealth generation [in 2023 by $150M ], Promoting water savings via more-crop-per-drop tech [1.7B L of water in 2023] and expediting the path towards food security [extra yield output in 2023 = feeding 5,600 more
