Chatafisha Building a circular waste economy through Blockchain technology

We are building a decentralized application that will allow waste pickers and collection points to upload and transparently keep track of daily offsets. The on ground verifiers as well as digital verifiers will allow proof of removal of waste and unlock liquidity. We are solving a huge waste pickers’ issues of volatility in price, poor working conditions by rewarding them with tokens and fiat money providing a universal basic income for them to thrive. The plastic is then converted into Eco products such as bricks and tiles to ensure it doesn’t go back into the community as well as be used to rebuild the disadvantaged economies, creating a full circular economy. We believe it’s a model that can be easily scalable across many developing nations through the transparency involved. We have already conducted various pilots in Tanzania and are looking to expand even more and impact as many waste pickers as well as create inclusive, self sustaining and self governed communities.
