Center for Insect Research and Development limited (CIRD), founded in February 2019 a female led business aims at being a leading center insect product development in Uganda. Through generation of evidence based innovative solutions for sustainable utilization of insect resources for income, employment, conservation and health in both humans and animals. CIRD mainly provides the following services; new product development, capacity building of insect businesses through training, consultancy in insect business, conservation and running of the insect related business. CIRD has a BSF breeding and training facility. We have trained a network of 240 BSF farmers and its growing. We are one of the leading traders of Black soldier fly larvae, eggs and pupae suppling Uganda and neighboring countries. Our overall future goal is to have an insect campus with all the relevant technologies.
