CATLA Safe . Trusted . Accessible

Urban transport in South Sudan is unsafe, unreliable, and financially unstable for riders. Catla transforms this ecosystem by creating a scalable ride-hailing platform for motorcycle taxis and tuk-tuks that is safe, reliable, and financially empowering. Using an offline-first, SMS-enabled booking system, Catla ensures service continuity in low-connectivity areas. Riders are verified, trained in traffic laws, and supported through bike/tuk-tuk financing. Safety dashboards and alert systems minimize accidents and theft. Building on proven operational experience from NileBoda, where 7 of 8 stolen bikes were recovered, traffic-compliant rider training was implemented, and rider/passenger trust was strengthened, Catla’s pilot will onboard 300–500 riders in Juba to validate adoption, safety, revenue, and community impact within 3–6 months.
