BUVAD Solar EV Battery Recharge Stations is a Ugandan clean-energy infrastructure company building a network of solar-powered battery recharge and swap stations for electric motorcycles (boda bodas) and electric cars, starting along the Kampala–Kayunga–Galiraya corridor.
We solve a simple, urgent problem: Uganda has rapidly growing numbers of electric vehicles but virtually no dedicated charging infrastructure. Every day, EV riders face the risk of running out of power with nowhere to recharge. We fix that — using Uganda’s abundant year-round sunshine as our fuel source.
Our stations are entirely solar-powered, which means they work reliably even when the national grid is unstable. Riders can either park and charge their batteries on-site or swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones in under two minutes — minimizing downtime and maximizing their earnings.
We are not just building charging stations. We are building the energy backbone of Uganda’s electric transport future — one
