Team Bio Waste Integrated Solutions is a group of four highly motivated Masters students who are currently studying Energy Engineering at the Pan African University Institute of Water and Energy Engineering (Including Climate Change), PAUWES in Tlemcen, Algeria. It was co-founded in 2022 by 4 young youths from Algeria, Zimbabwe and Nigeria with diverse backgrounds. Our common goal is to promote access to clean cooking and modern forms of energy, with the belief that energy equity is the key to eradicating poverty in our society. Despite Africa’s potential resources, 60% of the population still lacks access to clean cooking. Our team hopes to use waste-energy(W2E) concepts to improve access to clean cooking and increase productivity for women in society, while educating them also on climate change and energy issues.
