As Barry Investments Ltd, our belief is in strengthening food systems in Uganda by improving knowledge in the value chains, thereby increasing food and income security; and the livelihoods of the rural poor. As farmers ourselves, we understand farmers are the backbone of the agricultural industry and if farmers are not getting good returns from their efforts then our food systems will be impaired. We also understand the importance of reliable good markets and good farming practices that translate into quality produce. Through initiatives like our outreach program, we are improving the quantity and quality of farmers’ produce, especially the shelf life of the products. This increases quantity and reduces wastage, hence strengthening our food systems and attracting better markets that fast-track the growth and development of our farming communities.
