AviraLight is building a behavior-led clean cooking model for rural Nigeria, starting from a simple truth: many clean cooking solutions fail because they do not fit how people actually live, cook, earn, and make decisions. We begin with the user, not the technology. Our work focuses on rural women and households that still depend on firewood and charcoal, exposing them to smoke, high fuel costs, time poverty, and environmental damage. Instead of pushing an unfamiliar cooking system, we introduce a solution that is familiar in use but better in outcome, using efficient stoves powered by biomass pellets made from agricultural waste. We pair this with community engagement, local trust-building, and practical adoption support so the solution is understood, accepted, and used consistently. What makes AviraLight different is that we see clean cooking as more than a product. It is a pathway to behavior change, economic resilience, and rural development.
