INTRO Appload is an online logistics marketplace that connects shippers and carriers so they can plan, book, and monitor cargo shipments. PROBLEM This provides a solution to the lack of timely communication and information in the supply chain, which is a particular problem in developing markets. This problem limits efficiency, accountability and cost effectiveness, making transport expensive and unreliable. SOLUTION Appload improves logistics through structuring and connecting a fragmented system, driving up efficiency and service quality. Shippers request a trip, while carriers place an offer in real time. Shippers then select the best offer, pay, monitor and rate on the platform. PROGRESS Appload is moving into its 2nd year of operations covering Mozambique’s domestic market and cross-border transport to South Africa, Eswatini (former Swaziland) and Zambia on course to its imminent plans to scale up throughout the USD20B Southern African market.
